Urban High School Math Educator.
I completed my degree in math education at Michigan State University in 2016, and completed my year of student-teaching in CPS in Chicago during the 2016-2017 school year. After my wife and I got married in June of 2017, we moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where I taught for the 2017-2018 school year at Arlington Community High School in IPS. Currently, I teach 9th grade math at George Washington Community High School and am a core member of our Freshmen Academy.
My urban education classes at MSU, as well as my own urban teaching experiences have been a huge influence on my passion and desire to seek social justice. Through learning and unlearning, I aspire to seek social justice and use my privilege to change the hearts and minds of those who harm the marginalized.
I love having conversations with people about these issues, and attempting to wrestle with the complexities of social justice in America today. Though the journey never will truly finish, I am very excited to continue my education and experience in the fight for providing equity and justice for all.
